Eligibility

Criteria for eligibility has been established by Alberta Education through Program Unit Funding.(P.U.F.) Any child who is assessed as having a severe disability is eligible if they are 2 ½ to 5 ½ years of age by September 1st of the school year and have received approval through Alberta Education based on these therapeutic and educational assessments. Children can receive funding for a maximum of three years. The G.R.I.T. Program serves children in the city of Calgary and surrounding area.

The G.R.I.T program is a home/community based program and as such Alberta Education mandates that parents be actively involved in learning and understanding their child’s education program by participating in Family Orientated Sessions with members of the G.R.I.T. team.
