Our Staff

Executive Director: Is directly responsible to the board of directors. She is the primary liaison with Alberta Education. In addition she manages the financial aspects of the organization.

Director of Daily Operations: Oversees daily operations of the organization. She is responsible for staffing, intakes, community networking and staff in-services.

Director of Education: Responsible for overseeing the educational programs of the children in collaboration with the education and therapy team.

Special Education Consultants: These teachers are responsible for overseeing of the development and implementation of the Individual Program Plan. They provide consultation to the child, family and Developmental Specialist in the areas of cognition, socialization and behavior. The Special Education Consultants facilitate contact with external organizations or individuals involved with the child as needed.

Speech Language Pathologist: Will provide direct therapy for the child as well as the consultation to the family and developmental specialists in the areas of speech and language development.


Occupational Therapist: Will provide direct therapy for the child as well as consultation to the family and the Developmental Specialist in the areas of self help skills, fine motor development and feeding. They will provide strategies, equipment and modifications of environment to support the child in the home and classroom settings.


Developmental Specialist: The D.S. will provide support for the child in the home, at preschool and in the community. They will work collaboratively with the child’s family and the G.R.I.T. Education and Therapy teams to implement the Individual Program Plan.

Physical Therapist: Will provide direct therapy for the child as well as consultation to the family and the developmental specialist in the areas of gross motor development. They will provide equipment, strategies and modification to maximize the child’s mobility, strength and balance.

Adapted Physical Education Consultant: Leads an adapted physical education program focused on the development of locomotor and object control skills, playground safety and exposure to a variety of gross motor equipment and environments.

Vision Facilitator/Braillist: Works collaboratively with the Special Education Consultant and the Teacher for the Visually Impaired (contracted through R.E.A.C.H.) to implement program goals and objectives. Helps provide modifications to environment, equipment and learning materials to support these unique learning needs. Also provides direct instruction to child, parent and D.S. in early Braille literacy.

Behaviour Specialist: Collaborates with parents, teacher and staff to assess behavioral challenges and to develop appropriate intervention and behavior plans for children. Also serves as a resource to teachers, parents and staff for information on programs and strategies as deemed appropriate.

Sign Language Specialist: Provides consultation and resources to families, staff and interested community members in the area of preschool augmentative sign language. Also provides group instruction in developing preschool sign language vocabulary.
