Child Development Specialist:
G.R.I.T. Calgary Society is presently looking to hire a Part Time Child Development Specialist ASAP.
The child we are looking to hire for lives in the SE quadrant of the city.
The successful candidate will:

Provide children with quality Early Childhood experiences to support the child's individual learning and development through active participation in everyday natural routines of home, community and or school.

To work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team to meet the unique needs of the child and family.
Job Requirements:
-
Education- Diploma in Rehabilitation Services or Early Childhood Development or related field. (Equivalencies will be considered)

Experience -minimum of 1 year work experience with children with special needs, preferably children of preschool age (2.8 to 6 years of age), working with children both in their home and community settings.

Experience working with children with speech and communication delays
-
Experience working with children with complex medical needs
-
Current Certification in Infant Child Emergency First Aid CPR
-
Clear Criminal Record Check
Related Knowledge and Skills:
-
Knowledge of theory and principles of child development
-
An understanding of "learning through play" philosophy
-
An understanding of purpose and procedures of data collection
-
Good interpersonal communication skills
-
An ability to adapt to changing situations

An understanding of the Consultative Model
