Developmental Specialist:
G.R.I.T. Calgary Society is presently looking to hire both Full Time & Part Time Developmental Specialist positions ( 1:1 aide to work directly with a child or children) starting August 29,2022.
The successful candidate will:
Provide children with quality Early Childhood experiences to support the child's individual learning and development through active participation in every day natural routines of home, community and or school.
To work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team to meet the unique needs of the child and family
Job Requirements:
Education- Diploma in Rehabilitation Services or Early Childhood Development or related field. (Equivalencies will be considered)
Experience -minimum of 6mths work experience with children with special needs, preferably children of preschool age
Current Certification in Infant Child Emergency First Aid CPR
Clear Criminal Record Check
Proof of Dual Vaccination
Related Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of theory and principles of child development
An understanding of "learning through play" philosophy
An understanding of purpose and procedures of data collection
Good interpersonal communication skills
An ability to adapt to changing situations
An understanding of the Consultative Model
